PSL 2021: Match 16 MUL vs KAR Preview, Playing XI Updates, Live Streaming Details & Pitch Report
In the PSL, the Sultans have beaten the Kings only once.
Karachi Kings, led by Imad Wasim, are sitting pretty on top of the points table with three wins from five matches and with a decent net run rate of 0.697. However, due to the cut throat competition, a loss could push them down the table by a significant extent in the 2021 Pakistan Super League.
Their next match is against the Multan Sultans, who have had a dismal campaign thus far. Having lost four out of their first five matches, Mohammad Rizwan and Co are placed fifth in the points table and desperately need a win. Their net run rate of -0.244 isn’t healthy by any stretch of the imagination.
Going by the history books, the Kings have mostly dominated the Sultans, winning five out of six completed games. but the latter has the firepower to come out trumps.
If the Sultans lose their next game, it could mean they would nearly have to win all their last four games to have any chance of qualifying for the playoffs.
Playing combination for MUL vs KAR
Multan Sultans
The Sultans will depend highly on Mohammad Rizwan, who has done exceptionally with the bat. In five games, the right-hander has scored 297 runs at an average of 59.40, but hasn’t gotten much support from the others. James Vince has 174 runs, but needs to be a bit more consistent.
Sohaib Maqsood has played some handy knocks lower down the order. In the bowling department, the Sultans have two of the best spinners- Imran Tahir and Usman Qadir. Shahnawaz Dhani is their leading wicket-taker with nine wickets. The rest of the bowlers have been a tad inconsistent.
