Rahul Dravid takes his son Samit on an ice-cream treat
Dravid has been a massive contributor to Indian cricket even after retiring from the game in 2012.
Former Indian batsman Rahul Dravid has been one of the defining cricketers of his generation. His exemplary batting techniques and impeccable strokes play have awed both the fans and critics alike. However, despite calling time on his career 5 years back in 2012, he continued providing inputs and contributions from the sidelines.
Earlier this year, the dynamic batsman was even elected as a member of the coaching panel and was also bestowed with the responsibility of the U-19 team. Popularly known as ‘The Wall of Indian Cricket”, Dravid also gave up his position as the mentor of IPL franchise Delhi Daredevils, after accepting a two-year contract to coach the India A and Under-19 teams.
Dealing with the younger generation of players, Dravid seems to have accustomed himself pretty well. And recently, he posted a photo on Twitter, which shows another aspect to ‘coach Dravid.’ The batting legend’s fan club posted a photo, where he had taken out his son Samit and his teammates on an ice cream treat. The image was captioned, “Rahul Dravid Gave Treat To Samit & his team at @BaskinRobbins’s Kadugodi Parlour in Bangalore!”

Dravid to act as a batting consultant to senior team
Following Rahul Dravid’s appointment at the helm of India A and the U-19 coach in June 2015, the junior Indian teams have witnessed a lot of improvement. And the success has had a positive impact on the senior team as well. Dravid is also in charge as India’s batting consultant for overseas Test series.
India will be playing a lot of overseas Test series in the coming seasons and Dravid’s appointment as batting consultant will prove extremely beneficial for winning matches overseas. The Men in Blue does not have an exemplary track record abroad Thus, given Dravid’s experience of having played umpteen number of matches in foreign nations combined with his technical expertise, India has found a mentor to guide them successfully in the alien conditions.
