On the occasion of Rahul Dravid’s 45th birthday, we look at his records in the International cricket.
One of the greatest ever players to grace the sport, Rahul Dravid, was well known for his patience while batting in Test cricket as he was one of the very few who could survive in the toughest of conditions. Dravid, who was rated as a Test player, showed in excellence in the ODI format towards the end of his career, kept wickets whenever and also led India in both ODI and Test formats. Under his leadership, India were successful at creating a winning streak in ODI format and also ended win drought in the foreign soil.
On the occasion of Rahul Dravid’s 45th birthday, we look at his records in the International cricket:
1 – Rahul Dravid was the first ever player to score a hundred in ten different countries in Test cricket. He achieved this feat in 2004 only eight years into his Test career.
1 – Rahul Dravid is the only Indian captain to win a Test match in all Pakistan, Windies, South Africa and England. He, in fact, was the first Indian captain to win a Test match in Pakistan and South Africa.
4 – With centuries in four consecutive innings in Test format in 2002, Dravid stands as the only Indian player to score centuries in four consecutive Test innings.
36 – Number of centuries for Rahul Dravid in Test cricket. These are the 5th most by any player and the 2nd most among Indians behind Sachin Tendulkar’s 51 tons. Dravid’s 48 International tons are the 3rd most among Indians behind Sachin’s 100 centuries and Virat Kohli’s 52 centuries till date.
88 – Rahul Dravid involved in 88 100-run partnerships in the Test format; the most by any player.
210 – Dravid holds the record for taking most number of catches (210) in the Test format as a fielder.
453 – Rahul Dravid witnessed the fall of 453 wickets while at the other end in the Test cricket. Only Shivnarine Chanderpaul (519) witnessed fall of more wickets in this format than Dravid.
13288 – Dravid’s Test aggregate is the all-time 4th highest and the 2nd highest among Indians behind Sachin Tendulkar’s 15921.
24208 – Dravid’s 24,208 runs in International cricket are the 6th most by any player and 2nd most among Indians after Sachin’s 34357. His 10889 runs in ODI format are the 9th most overall and 3rd most among Indians.
31258 – Rahul Dravid faced a total of 31,258 balls in Test cricket. No other player batted even 30000 balls in this format.
44152 – Dravid spent a total of 44,152 minutes at the crease in Test cricket which is the highest by any player.
