Rajasthan Royals all-rounder Rahul Tewatia gets engaged
Rahul Tewatia was retained by the Rajasthan Royals franchise ahead of the IPL 2021.
So, by this time, most of the cricket fans in India will be familiar with the name, Rahul Tewatia. The left-hander shot to fame in the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) when he smashed Sheldon Cottrell for five consecutive sixes on 27th September 2020 at Sharjah and helped his side to chase down a monumental target of 224 against Kings XI Punjab.
And now, Tewatia has moved on to yet another important event in his life. The cricketer has now got engaged to Ridhi. The ceremony took place on 3rd February and was attended by cricketer and Kolkata Knight Riders player Nitish Rana.
The likes of Yuzvendra Chahal, Varun Chakravarthy, Hardik Pandya and Jaydev Unadkat all got hitched to their better halves in the last one year. It is yet to be known about Tewatia’s wedding date.
Rahul Tewatia will continue to render his services for RR
In the meantime, let us get to the business side of things as well. The all-rounder was retained by the Rajasthan Royals franchise ahead of the 2021 edition of the IPL. And, that makes sense as well.
The left hander was in scintillating form last season and plundered 255 runs at an average of 42.50. He also scored his runs at a strike rate of close to 140(139.34) to stamp his authority in the IPL. He also picked up 10 wickets with his leg spin in the 13th IPL edition, at a decent economy rate of 7.09 runs an over.
Tewatia has already been a part of the IPL from the year 2014, and has played for as many as 3 teams. While he started his career with the Rajasthan Royals in 2014, he moved on to the Kings XI Punjab franchise during the 2017 edition of the league. He was then procured by Delhi, where he rendered his services for 2 seasons, before moving back to the place where it all started for him, Rajasthan Royals in 2020.
With his performances on the field last season, Tewatia has surely announced to the world that he is a name to watch out for. And, if he can continue in the same vein, an Indian call up is definitely not far away.
