Ranking India's top 10 match-winners in ICC T20 World Cup history
Many players from India's 2007 T20 World Cup-winning squad made the list.
9. Suresh Raina
The first Indian to hit a T20I century, Suresh Raina, had to make this happening list. The southpaw is a proven star of the T20 format and his record speaks volumes of his prowess. Raina can strike the ball a long way, and his ability to adapt to the situation makes him an even greater asset.
Moreover, the former Indian cricketer is also a livewire on the field and can also contribute with his handy off-spin. Raina made his World T20 debut in 2009 but couldn’t do much in that edition. However, the left-handed batsman unleashed his A-game in the following edition and played several brilliant knocks.
He even went onto register his maiden T20I hundred, scoring 101 against South Africa’s potent bowling attack. The left-hander played several crucial knocks in the next three editions of the tournament and guided India over the line.
In total, he scored 453 runs in 26 T20 World Cup games. To go with that, Raina also scalped five wickets, and his contribution in the field doesn’t require any mentioning.
