3. Irfan Pathan
Well, this might raise some eyebrows, but when we talk about India’s match-winners in the T20 World Cups, Irfan Pathan is right among the top players. The all-rounder delivered in all three departments and took his side to many wins in the marquee event.
The left-arm pacer was, in fact, instrumental in taking India to their biggest T20I triumph. In the final against Pakistan in 2007, Pathan bowled his heart out and ran through the opposition side’s batting order.
He took three wickets in the game and conceded just 16 runs in four overs. As a result, India won the game by five runs, and Pathan received the Man on the Match award. The southpaw also delivered with the bat on multiple occasions, bolstering India’s total.
After 2007, Pathan played the next three editions of the showpiece event and put up some more impressive performances. Irfan Pathan retired from all forms of cricket in January last year.
