Ranking Top 10 T20 cricketers of 2021
These players were consistent right through the year, be it in T20Is or the leagues.
5. Mitchell Marsh
Mitchell Marsh would definitely feature on the list of surprise entries to the national team in 2021. He has been playing in the T20 Australian squad for 10 years now and did nothing special to retain his spot in the XI and hence was on and off from the team.
However, this year Marsh was exceptional. He was promoted up the order and batted at number three after Australia demoted their constant No.3 batter Steve Smith. This one change transformed the fortunes for Marsh and the team. He bowled 20 overs and picked 8 wickets at an economy rate of 7.35.
In the course of the year 2021, he played a total of 21 matches and piled up 5 half-centuries. He averaged 36.88 and hit 627 runs this year. His heroics of 77* off 50 deliveries in the T20 world cup final against New Zealand aided the team to lift their maiden T20 WC title.
