Despite joining the Indian league from the 2013 edition, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has managed to spend a considerable amount of money in the auctions to build a strong side over the years. The Orange Army has splurged 554.67 Crores at the auction.

Sunrisers pay the Australian opening batsman David Warner, who was responsible for taking the team to their maiden title in 2016, a staggering amount of INR 12 crore followed by the Indian batsman Manish Pandey, who gets a salary of INR 11 crore.

Though Warner & Co. had a slow start in IPL 2020, they bounced back stronger as they confirmed a berth for themselves in the playoffs of the league. SRH defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Eliminator but were outshined by the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 2nd Qualifier and were out of the race to the finale.
