4. Delhi Capitals – 740.05 Crore
Over the years, Delhi was known as the franchise who made wholesale changes to their IPL squad every year in the hope of winning their maiden IPL trophy. Though the trend has now changed and the management is sticking with the same core team for the last three years, they have spent a whopping INR 740.05 crore in the auctions in the past 14 years.
The wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant is the most expensive signing of the Capitals as they pay him a staggering amount of INR 15 crore. Delhi had a decent run in the 13th edition of the Indian league as they finished at the second position in the points table.
DC made their maiden IPL appearance against Mumbai Indians in IPL 2020 but failed to lift the trophy as they were outshined by the defending champions by 5 wickets in the final of the league on November 10 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
