Sachin Tendulkar featured in as many as 17 Tests in England which are the most by any Indian and he ended up holding the record for the most number of Test runs scored as well. He scored a massive 1575 runs in the 30 Test innings against the Brits in their own den at an average of 54.31; 0.52 more than his career average. The master blaster also hit four tons and eight fifties in England during his illustrious career.

Sachin’s maiden Test century was recorded during the 1990 series when he made an unbeaten 119 in the Manchester Test to save India from a defeat. The 17-year-old averaged 61.25 in that 3-match series where he scored 245 runs. He followed with a big 428-run tour in 1996 where he struck a couple of three-figure scores that included a lone warrior effort in Birmingham. He contributed towards the Leeds Test win by scoring 191 in the 2002, the series in which he aggregated 401 runs.

In his fourth tour in 2007, Sachin scored only 228 runs across three Tests with a couple of big fifties. However, his 91 was clinical in the victory at the Trent Bridge that set up a series win for them. Sachin’s final tour of England in 2011 coincided with his much-hyped 100th century. He extended his wait scoring only 273 runs with a lowly average of 34.12. He made 91 in his last innings in England before he was adjudged leg before nine runs short of what could’ve been a history.
