Rating the teams based on finishers in IPL 2020
The teams did their best to assemble decent finishers in their squad during the auction.
7. Chennai Super Kings (7.5/10)
One of the most followed teams in the IPL coming into the 2020 edition of the tournament is the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), with a batting order that might not be the best they’ve had over the years. With most of their players, into the latter part of their careers, the team might not find it that easy to chase big totals, as it did in the yesteryears.
The main reason for this is the absence of a solid set of finishers in the team. One might argue that the team has the likes of MS Dhoni, Dwayne Bravo and others. But it is not a hidden fact that with age creeping upon them, their minds are writing cheques that their body hasn’t been able to cash. The team till last year enjoyed the unquestionable services of Kedar Jadhav and the likes, but the last 365 days haven’t been exactly great for him and the others in his category.
The line-up once had players, who when once got on the field, left only after their team won the match, has some problems that it would need to sort ahead of the upcoming season. But still, their abilities cannot be doubted and who knows all of them get on their pink of form and sail through tough chases and accumulating runs in the death overs.
