Ravi Shastri answers his critics after his ‘sleeping picture’ in Ranchi goes viral

Ravi Shastri, the head coach of the Indian cricket team, has been trolled on several instances. Last year, he made some hilarious remarks during the tour of Australia after which he was ridiculed. In the same series, the former Indian cricketer was once seen coming out of the team bus with a bottle of beer in hand. Subsequently, the netizens slammed him left, right and centre.

He was even trolled when Sourav Ganguly became the new president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Of late, Shastri was mocked as a sleeping picture of his went viral on the social media platforms. It was during India’s third Test of the recent series versus South Africa at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi. He was seen sleeping in the players’ enclosure.

Twitterati dropped comments like- Drinks at will, ‘Sleeping Coach’, #RaviShastri is the reincarnation of Kumbhkaran’, takes naps during office time, gets paid in crores and many others. In the meantime, Shastri has eventually opened up on the continuous trolls.

The veteran said that he is least bothered about the comments. When asked about him sleeping, he said that he doesn’t miss a single delivery. “Enjoy, Enjoy….I don’t care what people say. I don’t miss a single ball,” Shastri was quoted as saying in mid-day.

Shastri has had a great time with the Indian cricket team. Under his tutelage, India are currently on top of the table in the ICC World Test Championship with 240 points. Recently, Virat Kohli and Co became the first team to stay unbeaten in 11 consecutive Test series at home, surpassing Australia.

India completely dominated the Proteas and won the final Test by an innings and 202 runs. Prior to this series, India also defeated the West Indies 2-0. Jasprit Bumrah missed out on the Proteas series, but Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Shami breathed fire to pick the bones out of the visitors.

India’s next assignment is the two-match home series versus Bangladesh, starting on November. Before that, the Men in Blue are scheduled to play three T20Is against the Tigers, set to get underway on November 3 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
