London Spirit beat Manchester Originals by 52 runs.
Former Team India head coach Ravi Shastri was seen enjoying a cricket match at the ‘Mecca of Cricket’ Lord’s along with Reliance Industries (RIL) chairman Mukesh Ambani and Google CEO Sundar Pichai.
Both Ambani and Pichai were at the Lord’s Cricket Ground to watch The Men’s Hundred 2022 fixture between the hosts London Spirit and Manchester Originals on Monday, August 8. The image of the trio watching the game together was posted by Shastri on his official Twitter handle and he wrote,”In the august company of two people who love their cricket@HomeOfCricket- Mr Mukesh Ambani and Mr@sundarpichai at @thehundred @SkyCricket”
Ravi Shastri is in the UK for a commentary stint and is currently working as a broadcaster for Sky Sports in the ongoing second edition of The Hundred. Meanwhile, it is unknown whether Mukesh Ambani and Sundar Pichai are in the United Kingdom for personal reasons or business purposes.
Meanwhile, the chief executive officer of Google Sundar Pichai is an ardent cricket fan and was seen in attendance along with Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar during the World Cup 2019 league clash between England and India at Edgbaston on June 30, 2019.
London Spirit register their second straight win of The Hundred 2022
Coming to the contest between the London Spirit and the Manchester Originals, the London-based franchise went on to post a challenging total of 160/6 in their allotted 100 balls, riding on a 34-ball 41 from opener Zak Crawley along with a vital knock of an unbeaten 34 runs off 11 deliveries by the Caribbean power-hitter Kieron Pollard. Skipper Eoin Morgan also contributed with 37 runs off 26 balls.
In reply, Manchester were blown away as only opener Phil Salt showed some resistance scoring 36 runs from 34 balls in what was otherwise a sorry-looking scorecard for the visitors. Skipper Jos Buttler’s poor form on the 22 yards continued as he could only manage to have six runs against his name.
The Manchester Originals were bundled out for 108 as London Spirit registered a convincing 52-run victory. Thus, Spirit registered their second win of the ongoing season to top the table with four points.
