Ravindra Jadeja takes on the ICC in an epic manner
Ravindra Jadeja posted a picture on Twitter to take a dig at ICC's decision to suspend him for one test match.
Man of the match of the 2nd Test match between India and Sri Lanka, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja had an epic take on his suspension for 1 match after he posted a picture on Twitter to express his views. Jadeja was the chief architect in India’s victory over Sri Lanka at Colombo. He picked up seven wickets in the game and also contributed with a half century, as India ran through Sri Lanka by an innings and 53 runs at their own backyard.
Post the match, the star all-rounder was handed a one-match suspension, which will take him out of contention for the 3rd and final Test at Kandy. Jadeja threw a ball back at Sri Lanka’s Malinda Pushpakumara, after fielding it off his own bowling. The no. 1 all-rounder was carrying 3 demerit points after running on the pitch during the Indore Test match against New Zealand last year. He has also been fined 50% of his match fee.
The all-rounder posted a photo that read “Hum sharif kya hue puri duniya hi badmash ho gayi,” his post read, which means: “The entire world has gone notorious when I decided to turn good”. The social media broke into a laugh at the Indian all-rounder’s antics.
Jadeja was found guilty of breaching article 2.2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Player and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “throwing a ball (or any other item of cricket equipment such as a water bottle) at or near a Player, Player Support Personnel, Umpire, Match Referee or any other third person in an inappropriate and/or dangerous manner during an International Match”.
India will take on Sri Lanka in the third and final Test match at Kandy from 12th August onwards. The visitors will look to continue their winning run and leave the island nation by placing a whitewash over the Lankans. India have now won their eighth successive Test series
