'RCB have never felt so calm going into a season before' - Virat Kohli oozing confidence ahead of IPL 2020

Amid the full-fledged preparations of the 13th season of the Indian Premier League, the RCB skipper Virat Kohli feels that his team is going to put up a great show this year. He highlighted the positive mood of the players while gearing up for the mega event and said the Challengers never felt as calm while prepping for an IPL season. Stating the fact that RCB have yet not been able to make a mark in the history of IPL, the franchise really needs to pull up their socks.

However, the Indian skipper is confident that with the right mix of youth and experience, they will be able to land in a respectable position this year. Kohli spoke to sports presented Danish Sait in the latest episode of RCB’s Bold Diaries and stated the team is looking well-balanced ‘as a squad and as a system.’

When asked about if a ‘miracle’ would happen in this season, he stated, “We definitely feel it will. We [AB de Villiers and I] have spoken about this that we have never felt so calm going into a season before. He is coming from a very different space, he has been enjoying his life.

“He is very relaxed. He came out to play a few times recently, and he was looking like he’s still playing in 2011. He is as fit as ever. I am feeling like I am in a much better space, much more balanced when it comes to the environment in the IPL.”

The RCB leader spoke that it is of much significance this time that they don’t feel discouraged about things that happened in the past. He said that they shall focus on the game ahead to make the very best of it with all their skillful players.

“It’s all about disconnecting with things that have happened in the past and not taking that baggage. We have done that too many times. Just because we have a bunch of players that are so skilled, people like seeing them play is the reason why people have had so much expectation as well. We are not going to think of what-ifs, we know what we can do as a team. And we’re just very, very keen and hungry to go out there and do it,” he added.
