Why was Stephen Fleming wearing a suit in the RPS dugout during the IPL final?
Apparently, the coach made a one of a kind deal with the players.
On a night when all eyes were on stars of Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Supergiant, former New Zealand opener and coach of the team from Pune, Stephen Fleming grabbed all the eyeballs as he was sporting the dapper look while wearing a suit instead of the team apparel.
The Supergiant turned their fortunes around this season after a dismal show in the last season of IPL. The agitated owners made quite of few bold moves by removing MS Dhoni as captain and handed over the captaincy to Australian skipper Steve Smith. They also removed ‘s’ from Supergiants.
The team was desperate to win so much so that the reserve-natured Fleming, who previously coached IPL giants Chennai Super Kings, made a one of a kind deal with his team. During the first half of the game as his team was out bowling, Fleming was seen sitting in the dugout in a suit while benched players the likes of Ashok Dinda were having fun.
The deal
Many viewers were left perplexed after seeing the former left-handed Black Cap in his avatar while many were left into splits. Apparently, the Kiwi made a deal with the players during the course of the tournament, that if the team enters the final of the IPL this season, Fleming would appear in a suit instead of the team apparel
Holding Willey tweeted the actual reason whole situation. They tweeted saying,” Apparently, Stephen Flemming made a bet with his players that he will wear a suit if the team reaches the finals! #RPSvMI #IPL”
Rising Pune Supergiant was well placed during the interval of the match as they restricted the heavy-duty batting lineup of Mumbai Indians to 129 runs. They are the favourites to win the title from here on.
