'Regular matches should be played between teams of IPL and PSL' - Islamabad United owner Ali Naqvi

Indian Premier League is arguably one of the best T20 leagues across the globe and every professional cricketer wants to be a part of it for at least once in his career. Meanwhile, Pakistan Super League is another tournament of the same prototype, which is currently in the phase to become one of the best in the business with some big foreign players playing in this six-team tournament. Now, Ali Naqvi, the owner of Islamabad United has opened up expressing his wish in an interview over the competition between IPL and PSL.
There is a certain essence of rivalry between India and Pakistan on cricket grounds. The competition level touches its peak when these two arch-rivals come face to face. Even the fans also wait for these two countries to lock horns in a cricket match. However, due to some political tension between these nations has set them apart to come into an agreement to play regular games.
Islamabad United owner opens up on games between IPL and PSL
Meanwhile, in an interview, Ali Naqvi, the owner of Islamabad United said that there can be some games that should be played between IPL and PSL teams as these two are the best T20 leagues across the globe. If its made possible then the fans will surely get to watch some exciting games on the cricket field. He put forward the same suggestion in front of Mumbai Indians in order to play a friendly game with Islamabad United.
But, due to the tension between India and Pakistan, it wasn’t made possible. However, this might get a go in the future. He also announced that in the upcoming season of Pakistan Super League, Kiwi wicket-keeper, Luke Ronchi will take part as coach-cum-player for his team.
“I think we should consider having regular matches between teams from the IPL and PSL which are the best leagues in the world. Some thought should be given to this suggestion. It can happen sometime in the future,” Islamabad United owner said as quoted by India TV.
PSL season five is slated to begin from 20th of February. This is going to be the first season that will be played in Pakistan.
