Rinku Singh gifted a car to his parents with his IPL salary
Rinku is currently representing Uttar Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), the two-times champions of the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) didn’t have an overly massive squad in the previous season. The same was for the reason that the franchise exhausted their purse on some of the biggest stars in international cricket. However, Dinesh Karthik and Co also picked up a few domestic players, one of them was Rinku Singh.
The 21-year-old had a base price of INR 20 lakh and it was the Knights along with Mumbai Indians (MI), who entered into a mini bidding war to grab the youngster. Eventually, KKR drafted him in for INR 80 lakhs. During the tournament, the Agra-born cricketer didn’t feature consistently in the renowned T20 team as he couldn’t perform as per expectations.
I m proud of you brother
He got opportunities in merely four matches in which he scored 29 runs at an average of 7.25 and with a top score of 16. The player thereafter represented Uttar Pradesh in the recently concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy. He played only six matches and notched 133 runs at an average of 26.6. The youngster is currently playing the 2018-19 edition of the Ranji Trophy.
His team defeated Goa by an innings and 247 runs to register their first victory. Rinku played an unbeaten hand of 15 runs at a run-a-ball in the first innings. In the meantime, he bought a car with his salary, most of which was garnered from the IPL. The same has made his brother Sonu Kumar Singh proud. He took to Instagram, posted a picture of the car and thanked Rinku.
Sonu captioned the picture and wrote, “I m proud of you brother, Rinku Singh you have been chasing your dreams since childhood and finally the day has came when u have fullfil them and had made them on floor because only dreams will let you grow bigger So finally i just wanna thankyou Brother Rinku Singh for this wonderful surprise.
