S Sreesanth claims BCCI is singling him out in the spot-fixing controversy

S Sreesanth, the banned Indian pacer, has questioned the approach of the Indian board towards the players of CSK in the spot-fixing case. The cricketer has claimed that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is has singled him out in the controversy and is keeping other players away from it. Kerala High Court, last month, shattered all the hopes of his return to International cricket when he was banned from playing the game for life.

Sreesanth however, has come out strong against BCCI after the verdict and has now dragged the players into it. CSK and Rajasthan Royals were suspended for two years after the officials and players of the teams respectively were found allegedly involved in spot-fixing in 2013. Both the teams are now ready to make their return in the lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL) after serving the suspension period.

Why weren’t CSK players questioned?

S Sreesanth has been deeply hurt by the decision of the High Court and has continued to defend himself. Moreover, he has claimed BCCI is trying to save some of the big names involved in the case who are still playing international cricket for their respective countries. “There are many people who were named by the Delhi police in their report but are still playing international cricket. Teams like CSK and Rajasthan Royals (RR) banned only for two years… Why weren’t players from CSK questioned?” he said in an interview to a news channel.

He also said that the police asked him about each and every player during the investigation and some of them are still playing the league despite their involvement in the fixing. “During the probe, cops dropped one name after the other… yes, some of them are still playing for the country,” he added. After the allegations of the bowler, one of the members of Mudgal committee also questioned about the reported players not being investigated which has given a new twist to the fixing saga now.
