S Sreesanth drags BCCI to Kerala High Court over denial of NOC
S Sreesanth was cleared of all the charges by the Delhi trial court in 2015 due to lack of evidence. And since then has been trying to get back to playing cricket. He has been pressed with a life ban by the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI). Now, as per the recent reports in Manorama Online, the Kerala speedster has dragged the board to the Kerala High Court in order to get his life long ban lifted.
The story dates back to a couple of months ago when Sreesanth was seeking a comeback to the game through a stint in Scotland cricket. His associate in Scotland had invited him over in Scotland to play for the club Glenrothes. For the same, he had been trying to get the No Objection Certificate but was denied the NOC time and again by the BCCI as they stay firm on their decision of keeping him off the cricket field.
Ajit Chandila and Ankit Chavan were also banned by the BCCI In 2013. In the most recent claims, Sreesanth has noted that the BCCI panel that denied him the NOC, made their judgments based on the reports they received from the Delhi Police.
At the same time, he pointed out that it was the same Delhi Police that had cleared him of all the charges back in 2015 itself. “However, the court has quashed the police’s arguments and acquitted me from the charges,” remarked Sreesanth. Summarizing the entire scene, it was back in IPL 2013, when the pacer was allegedly involved in the spot-fixing scandal while playing for the Rajasthan Royals franchise.

The proofs and video footages had gone against him. He was subsequently banned by the BCCI from all forms of competitive cricket. Later in 2015, the Delhi Court had acquitted him of all the charges pertaining to spot-fixing. However, the pacer has failed to make a comeback to cricket since then.
