S Sreesanth joins Hansika Motwani in a horror comedy
The film will be helmed by director duo Hari Shankar and Hareesh Narayan.
S Sreesanth is 36 years old and it can well be said that his cricketing career has come to a close, barring a miraculous occurring. The spot-fixing scandal turned his journey on the field upside down as ever since the incident, he hasn’t played any competitive cricket and he is unlikely to play any in the near future as well. Over the years, the tainted bowler has plied his trade on screen.
The Kerala-born Sreesanth has already worked in four movies, including Aksar 2 (Hindi), Team 5 (Malayalam), Cabaret (Hindi) and Kempegowda 2 (Kannada). In a recent development, it’s been learned that he is set to feature in his fifth movie alongside actress Hansika Motwani. It’s an untitled Tamil film of horror-comedy genre, directed by Hari Shankar and Hareesh Narayan.
Sreesanth’s movie to go on floors in December
“The film will be helmed by director duo Hari Shankar and Hareesh Narayan; they earlier made Ambuli, the first stereoscopic 3D film in Kollywood. It will be a thorough horror film, but will not be dark or gory; humour will be an important element in the script,” a source was quoted as saying in The Times of India (TOI).
“Hansika loved her character graph and readily came on board. Hari-Hareesh and producer Ranganathan recently met Sreesanth for a script narration; his character has shades of grey. The film, which is set in Chennai, will go on floors in December, and will be a summer release,” the source added.
The 28-year-old Hansika made her Bollywood debut back in June 2007 alongside Himesh Reshammiya in the movie Aap Ka Suroor. She is now an established actress in the South. Motwani has worked with her number of popular actors and is best known for her performance in movies like Desamuduru, Kantri and Maska.
As far as Sreesanth is concerned, he was a part of the popular TV show Bigg Boss, hosted by the veteran Salman Khan, last year. In the house, he was involved in a number of controversies. In the show, even his wife Bhuvneshwari Kumari went to meet him and shared their story regarding Sreesanth’s journey after the shambolic incident in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
