Sachin Tendulkar equates Rohit Sharma’s batting with poetry in motion
Rohit is the leading run-getter in the tournament.
Team India is set to appear in the knock-out stage for the 6th consecutive time in ICC events. The team has been carried by some brilliant batting performances and even the bowlers have stepped up to the task. Among all, the batting prowess of Rohit Sharma is resting head and shoulder above the rest. Such has been his dominance in the 2019 World Cup that Sachin Tendulkar is also out of adjectives trying to describe his heroics and has applauded the efforts of the right-hander.
Rohit has not left any stone unturned in the 12th edition of the World championship. He has been whacking the ball to all parts of the ground at will and has done that against all the major teams they played in the league stage. He has a tally of 647 runs in 8 games which makes him the highest run-getter in the competition. Rohit has stroked 11 centuries in his last 40 ODI outings including 5 World Cup tons.
Praise from the best
The stylish Mumbaikar was always touted to have the talent to become a great of the game, but in the last couple of years, he has come into his own and has been as consistent as it gets in white-ball cricket. Tendulkar was full of praises when he was asked about his countrymen’s World Cup efforts.
The legend admired Rohit’s batting and even talked about his ability to hit really clean. Sachin assessed that it is Rohit’s bat swing which separates him from the rest. He pointed out that Hitman requires minimum efforts to even hit the big shots.
“He is fantastic. Rohit is poetry in motion because the kind of bat-swing he has, not many players possess that. A class apart when it comes to the smooth swing. You could see the effort put in when he hit that six was minimal. A number of guys have multiple bat swings but not a clean swing. Rohit’s swing is like a pendulum,” Tendulkar was quoted as saying by India Today.
He also noted that the team has been playing really good cricket and all the members have done their part. He also referred to the win against Lankan lions as an important one before the semi-finals.

“The way we played against Sri Lanka was fantastic. All-round performance, clinical. Along the way, we got better and better and squeezed them really hard. I think this has been a convincing victory,” added Tendulkar.
