India’s master batsman Sachin Tendulkar, who is also an esteemed member of the Rajya Sabha, made an appearance in the Parliament. Twitter was quick enough to take over and hail as well as troll the Master batsman. Tendulkar has not been renowned for attending parliamentary sessions until now and has been a centre for criticism for this very factor. Master Blaster has been a member of the Parliament with the lowest attendance.

Naresh Agarwal, Samajwadi Party Member of Parliament, recently lashed out at Sachin and Bollywood actress Rekha, claiming that the members should resign if they aren’t interested in attending the Parliamentary sessions. He also questioned the absence of celebrities inside the Rajya Sabha. It was revealed that Sachin attended only two of the 25 sessions last year in the Winter sessions. Also, in the budget sessions, the Mumbai Indians icon only attended 1 out of the eight sessions, according to the Rajya Sabha website.

Sachin Tendulkar and Rekha should resign if they are not interested in Parliament,” commented Agarwal according to TOI. As a result, the presence of Sachin surprised one and all as his presence came just days after the government was left red-faced as the empty Treasury Benches meant the Opposition managed to drop a crucial clause from the Constitutional Amendment Bill on the National Commission for Backward Classes.

The face of Sachin Tendulkar during his presence in the Parliament was pure gold and was the centre of attraction for the amidst the Trollers. Sachin has also been under criticism for over-promotion of his biopic across all spheres. Thereby, many claim his attendance was a matter of promotion of his movie even in the Rajya Sabha, much to the amusement of Twitter fraternity.
