The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the final dates of hosting the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (BCCI). The Indian board has decided to conduct the much-awaited 2020 edition of the cash-rich league from September 19 to November 10 in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.

The board has issued a number of health and safety guidelines to be followed by the franchises for the smooth conduct of the tournament. Also, this time there would be 10 double-headers with matches starting a half-hour earlier. The afternoon matches will begin at 3:30 pm while the evening matches will kick-off form 7:30 pm.

With the official announcement of the league, players have started showing their excitement on social media. Sakshi Dhoni, the wife of the former Indian captain and IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) current captain MS Dhoni also reacted to the news of commencement of the cash-rich league by posting a photo in yellow on her official Instagram handle.

This particular picture by their captain’s better half drew the attention of Chennai Super Kings as they replied to the post with the lyrics of the famous Tamil song “Va Va Manjal Malare”. Interestingly, Sakshi also replied back to them with the lyrics of the same song.

MS Dhoni last braced the match field during the World Cup

The Ranchi Stalwart last donned the Indian jersey during the semi-final match against New Zealand where Kiwis outshined the Asian Giants. Since then, Mahi has been absent from the cricket field. The 2020 edition of the T20 league will mark the return of the former Indian captain to competitive cricket.

Though Mahi had started practicing for the tournament in March as he joined CSK’s camp, BCCI had to post the league indefinitely in the wake of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Dhoni is hailed as one of the most successful captains in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He is the only skipper to have led his team in nine out of the 12 finals so far. Chennai Super Kings has won the T20 Trophy three times under Mahi’s leadership. He also has the record of winning the most number of matches as the captain for his team in the cash-rich league.
