Sandeep Lamichhane dedicates his FBB stylish award to fans and well wishers
He was absolutely phenomenal with figures of 1-21, having accounted for the dangerous wicket of Suresh Raina
History was recreated in the IPL Auction this year. Sandeep Lamichhane became the first ever Nepal player to feature in the IPL. He was brought by the Delhi Daredevils for his base price of ₹20 lakhs. Ever since then, the youngster has been living the dream. Soon enough, he was drafted to play for St Kitts in the CPL this year.
The 17-year-old won the FBB stylish player award for his splendid performance against Chennai yesterday. He was absolutely phenomenal with figures of 1-21, having accounted for the dangerous wicket of Suresh Raina. That’s where the match turned in favour of the hosts.
He was elated having got the recognition and shared it on Twitter with a huge caption. Alongside the picture of his trophy, Sandeep dedicated it to all his supporters who had backed him to do well. The youngster was filled with gratitude to all his well-wishers.
Lamichhane speaks
“Dedicated to all those who stood with me on my bad times and supported me with an open heart. Thanks for being there on those hard times. And thanks for still loving me in the same way. Lots of love to all my fans, well-wishers and all the nearest and dearest for kind love.”
The right arm leg breaker was a revelation in the World Cup Qualifiers for Nepal. While his country couldn’t make it big in the tournament, Sandeep was proclaimed as the rising star by the International Cricket Council. He considers Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne as his idols.
As of recent, he was drafted into the World XI squad to play against the West Indies. He was included after Shakib Al Hasan had to opt out of the same. As Delhi Daredevils have their last assignment tomorrow against the Mumbai Indians, Sandeep would be looking forward to making one last impression in the Indian Premier League.
