Sanju Samson shares how he is gearing up for the West Indies series
Samson was dropped from India’s T20I squad against the West Indies.
Life is all about making the best use of the opportunity that comes your way. They are so few and far in between that one has to be at the right place at the right time and make optimum use of whatever chances that comes his/her way. Sports, and especially Cricket, do not bore an exception to it. It is not an aberration to say that Indian cricket is overflowing with talent. For every potential spot in the playing 11, there are more than a dozen equally deserving contenders for the aforementioned place.
And, you would have seen on a plethora of occasions in the past that despite a string of consistent performances in the domestic set-up, he or she does not even get a chance for a national call-up. He grinds, scores, again grinds and again scores, but does not get the opportunity to represent his country.
But, sometimes, adversity for one comes wearing clothes of opportunity for the other! And, it is all up to the individual as to how he perceives it. Shikhar Dhawan’s injury may have been another adversity in his career but it has come as a breath of fresh air of opportunity for Kerala and Rajasthan Royals swashbuckling wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson.
