Sarah Taylor affects an exceptional stumping; Twitter gives her the title of female MS Dhoni
The fans are in awe of Taylor after the stunning glovework.
England and South Africa Women locked horns in the first ICC ODI Championship match on Saturday at New Road in Worcester. The visitors won the game comfortably by 7 wickets as they gunned down the target of 190 runs in the 46th over on the back of an unbeaten 92-run knock from Lizelle Lee. For the hosts, Katherine Brunt was the star player as he scored 72 runs with the bat while also bowling decently. However, Sarah Taylor’s acrobatics behind the stumps to dismiss Sune Luus hogged all the limelight as she was given the title of being the female MS Dhoni on Twitter.
MS Dhoni is one of the best, if not the best, wicketkeepers in the world as the fans keep on gushing over his lightning-quick stumpings. He is a street-smart cricketer and has more often than not reaped rewards by being unorthodox. His skills as a wicketkeeper have set a benchmark at the international level.
Taylor grabs an opportunity
England needed some quick wickets after posting a below-par total and had started their defence well by picking an early wicket of Laura Wolvaardt. South Africa were 4/1 after three overs as Anya Shrubsole was handed over to bowl the next one. The first ball of the over was down the legside by her as Sune Luus missed her flick as well and also lost her balance. Meanwhile, Sarah Taylor collected the ball exceptionally well and took the bails off in a flash to send the batter packing.
All the action unfurled very fast that even Luus couldn’t believe that she was dismissed. As it turned out, the replays suggested that her bat was in the air and all the credit of the wicket deservedly went to Taylor who converted a harmless delivery into a crucial wicket. Twitterati was over the moon after watching Sarah flaunting her wicketkeeping skills and her acrobatics were compared with none other than the ever so cool MS Dhoni.
