Is Sarfraz Ahmed fitter than Virat Kohli? The latest yo-yo test results are out

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) organised a camp in Lahore for 18 players ahead of the Asia Cup and then picked 16 players in the final squad. Imad Wasim was dropped for not clearing the yo-yo test which took place during the camp and Hasan Ali emerged as the fittest of all with the score of 20 as he also crossed the Indian captain Virat Kohli in that aspect. However, the score of a few other players have also been revealed as Sarfraz Ahmed and Shoaib Malik are two of the other fittest cricketers in the team.

Kohli is known to be the one who gives the prime importance to fitness which is why Team India has made clearing the yo-yo test mandatory. The captain leads from the front with a score of 19 and Manish Pandey is the only other cricketer with more score than him which is 19.2. The benchmark for the players to be eligible for selection is 16 which is lowest compared to other countries and still, some of them fail to cross it.

What is the score of Sarfraz?

According to the reports in Pak Passion, the yo-yo test score of Sarfraz Ahmed in the recent fitness emerged to be 18.2 which is brilliant. But if compared to Virat Kohli, it is lesser and only Hasan Ali has managed to cross the Indian maestro. Shoaib Malik, even at the age of 36, has managed to score 17.2 which is quite admirable and his place in the team is never in question.

India and Pakistan, the arch-rivals, will face each other in the upcoming Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on September 19. It will be their first battle since the Champions Trophy final last year in England. Though Kohli has been rested by the Men in Blue, they still remain a brute force and the contest is expected to be closest.

The battle will be once again between Pakistan’s bowlers and Indian batsmen as the Men in Green had won it last time around. There is a huge possibility that these two teams meet again after four days in the Super Four stage of the tournament and if all goes well, they can also clash in the final.
