Cricket Australia (CA) have recovered 2890 scalped tickets for Perth Ashes Test between England and Australia and will put those back on sale. The WACA ground in Perth is set to host the third Test of the Ashes from December 14. The prestigious Ashes series is scheduled to begin on 22nd November which would go on until 8th January 2018.

Earlier it was reported that the tickets for the Test had been offered on eBay at inflated values. CA executive general manager, events and leagues, Anthony Everard, said that their team is working extremely hard to identify and stop the tickets from being resold at an inflated value across all the venues.

“We know that tickets are in high demand for this series and this is a very clear message to those who try to take advantage of the system and scalp tickets at inflated prices, that we will identify and cancel tickets, in accordance with our terms and conditions,” Everard said according to ESPNcricinfo.

Fans should not buy tickets

He also appealed to all the fans that they should not support such practice and buy tickets through authorised sellers only. “Fans who purchase tickets from unauthorised resellers (such as Viagogo, Ticketmaster Resale, Gumtree, eBay etc.) risk paying too much, receiving invalid tickets or no tickets at all. Unfortunately, we are unable to assist fans or verify any tickets purchased through resellers,” he concluded.

England is currently busy playing the 3-match Test series against the Caribbean team which is being touted as the practice games for them ahead of the all important Ashes. England will also play Windies in a 5-match ODI series. On the other hand, Australia has travelled all the way to Bangladesh to play a 2-match Test series after which they will travel to India for a limited-overs series.

The Ashes Tests will be played in Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne and Sydney as it has always been the trend.
