Entering the 10th edition of the Indian Premier League, MS Dhoni had a very shaky form with the national side. Dhoni on a few occasions failed to win the game for the Indian side. The criticism of the former skipper was growing constantly match after match. Dhoni had an added responsibility of leading the Chennai Super Kings who were making a return to the tournament after facing the 2-year suspension.

However, the 36-year old Dhoni has turned the clock backwards through his superb performance in the tournament. Dhoni, coming to bat at higher batting order has taken the bowlers to cleaners on a number of occasions. Dhoni has hit maximum sixes (27) sixes in the tournament. In the 10 matches which Dhoni has played, he has scored 360 runs at an impressive average of 90, smashing the ball at 165.89 strike rate.

Happy to see Dhoni back to his best: Harbhajan Singh

CSK‘s senior bowler Harbhajan Singh has lauded the skipper of the side for his tremendous performance. The off-spinner himself has bowled pretty effectively in the tournament. The bowler was attending an event in Pune where he said that no one can hit the ball as good as Dhoni once he gets going. Harbhajan added that he has seen the fear in the eyes of the bowlers when they bowl to Dhoni.

“I think Dhoni is playing really freely. No one hits the ball better than him when he gets going. I have seen the fear in the bowlers’ eyes when they come up against him. I am really happy that he is back to his best,” said the 37-year old spinner.

CSK were back to winning ways after their defeat against Mumbai Indians at their home ground. It was yet again a crucial MS Dhoni knock which sealed the game for the side when he hit 3 sixes in Yuzvendra Chahal. Witnessing Dhoni smash the bowlers the way he is doing, Harbhajan might well have seen the fear in the eyes of the bowlers.
