Shahid Afridi to be part of Lanka Premier League after being named the icon player of Galle Gladiators
IPG Group is in partnership with Galle Gladiators, which has become the first team to be sold for the Lanka League.
After successful completion of the 13th season of the Indian Premier League in UAE, which is slated to commence September 19, another League will be coming up in the month of November in Sri Lanka. Former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi is set to be one of the significant members of one of the franchises for the forthcoming Lanka Premier League, which will hit from November 14-December 6.
As per the highly placed sources in Pakistan, Afridi will see new honours on his way. He will be the Brand Ambassador of the Galle Gladiators team and might be asked to get in action with bat and ball for the franchise team.

Mr Omar, director, and owner of Omar Associates have been extending a helping hand to thousands of Pakistan cricketers across all age groups. Some are helped directly as players or employees while others receive assistance from him through various grassroots activities.
Omar associated maintains seven or eight teams that include under-16s and under-19s, veterans, and a women’s team, that clinched the Benazir cup in 2015. Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto women cricket championship is on the name of former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Benazir Bhutto. Omar’s team, Quetta Gladiators is the defending champion of PSL.
Shahid Afridi joined Multan Sultans in 2019
Shahid Afridi plays for Multan Sultans under Shan Masood. Sultans were also the table-toppers during the league stage of Pakistan Super League in 2019, and former cricketer joined them in the same year.
The PSL is conducted every year between the months of February-March, where 6-teams based on different cities of Pakistan come forward to put up the action.
The Super League flagged off its journey in the year 2015 with 5 teams but now has 6– Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators. This year’s season couldn’t be held with Gladiators being the defending champions.
