Shakib Al Hasan on the verge of entering record books with unique feat
The Bangladeshi all-rounder is on the verge of completing yet another milestone.
The Bangladesh cricket team has been enjoying a joyride in the ongoing Tri-nation series comprising Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. The Tigers have not just won their first three matches, but have preyed ruthlessly on their oppositions, taking a bonus point from each game. They currently lead the ladder with 15 points, while both the other teams are still stuck at single digits.
Opening batsman Tamim Iqbal and all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been the two premier performers for the Tigers this series. The duo bolstered the team’s performance on every occasion and even went on to share all the Man of the match awards between them. While Shakib won the award in the first two games, Iqbal clinched it in the third game.
However, on the back of some incredible performances, Shakib now looks on the verge of scripting history with a unique feat. In the second match of the series, the left-hander touched the milestone of scoring 10 thousand international runs. And he is now on the brink of attaining a rare record of scoring 10 thousand runs and claiming 500 wickets. Playing 295 matches across all formats, Shakib’s run tally stand 10,051 and the number of wickets is 496.
Shakib boasts of better statistics
