Ace Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is currently in the middle of the rough patch owing to his finger injury. He has been suffering from the same since January this year and things have only worsened for him. Recently, the Jessore-born cricketer played in the Asia Cup but had to fly back home on the eve of the Tigers’ Super 4 match against Pakistan in the Super 4.

He had to undergo an operation in Dhaka in which a pus had to be operated out of his finger. Recently, he went to Australia in order to undergo another surgery. Prior to the trip, he talked to the reporters and said that his finger will never be in shape ever again in the future. However, the seasoned campaigner mentioned that he would try to return to the sport at the earliest.

We never neglected anyone’s trouble

Lately, Nazmul Hasan Papon, the president of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) remarked that he hadn’t communicated with Shakib after he went to Dhaka. He also said that the infection wasn’t easy to detect for the reason that enough symptoms weren’t there. Moreover, he vowed to himself take the onus of the 31-year-old’s treatment.

“I instantly said him to go back. And that was the last time I talked to him before returning to Dhaka. I visited him in the Apollo Hospital; checked and rechecked all of his medicines. Shakib said he wanted to go to London before reaching USA. But I heard he went to Australia.

And I asked him about the condition. Team physiotherapist Debashish Chowdhury said it is hard for them to locate an infection as there were no external symptoms previously,” Hasan was quoted as saying in bdcrictime.

“Like all of you, we are also out of knowledge about Shakib’s extension of condition and how it turned out to be so bad all of a sudden. Because no one like any doctors and physiotherapist told us that. We never neglected anyone’s trouble. If we could know the grave situation, I must take the initiative to treat Shakib properly,” he added.
