Shakib Al Hasan has been one of Bangladesh’s greatest cricketers having garnered a number of laurels under his belt. However, the recent times haven’t been great for the Jessore-born all-rounder. The 31-year-old player is suffering from a finger injury and the same has been a major detriment to his cricketing career ever since the beginning of this year.

Recently, he played the Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), but couldn’t play all the matches in the event and had to return prior to the Super 4 match against Pakistan in Abu Dhabi. He returned to Dhaka and underwent a surgery on his finger where a massive pus had to be operated out. Shakib Al Hasan is currently in Australia for another treatment on his finger.

Prayers pour in for Shakib

Before leaving Dhaka, he said that his finger won’t ever be in shape, but mentioned that he would continue playing cricket. The injury has aggravated to such an extent that Shakib Al Hasan has now become uncertain to play the World Cup next year. In the meantime, the fans in Bangladesh are praying for their favourite cricketer to recover at the earliest and take the field.

Yesterday, Ummey Ahmed Shishir, Shakib’s better-half posted a couple of pictures where his supporters can be seen sitting in a gathering and praying together. Quite expectantly, Shishir, who is married to Shakib since December 12, 2012, was overwhelmed by the love and admiration for her better-half.

She took to Facebook and wrote, “I don’t have words to describe this, these people came together today for a Milad and Dua Mahfil for Shakib Al Hasan’s fast recovery I came to know it has been organised by his die hard fans which left me speechless it’s been performed in about 10 Masjids around the country. Almighty Allah has blessed him with all your love and dua. Alhamdulillah he’s recovering from his wound! Almighty Allah has been kind to us Alhamdulillah,”

Here is Shishir’s post
