Shikhar Dhawan has the best birthday message for his wife Ayesha
He is currently batting at Edgbaston.
Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan had a ‘close shave’ from reaching the brink of his Test career on Wednesday as he was preferred over the Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara for the Birmingham Test against England. He had hit a century in India’s last Test and was adjudged the man of the match, but has indeed seen a low over the last few weeks in terms of batting.
However, that hasn’t made the man oblivious towards his family duties. The stylish moustachioed celebrated his wife Ayesha Dhawan’s birthday in the most loveable manner by posting a beautiful family picture of the couple on Twitter. The couple got hitched in October 2012 and have been living together happily ever since then.
In his latest social media update, Shikhar Dhawan thanked Ayesha for taking care of the family and wished her on her birthday. “Wish u a very happy birthday my Love, have a great one. Thanks for making my life complete. Being d pillar of our family,” he wrote.
Struggling in England
Dhawan, fondly known as “Gabbar”, hasn’t had a memorable England tour so far. In the T20I series which India won 2-1, the left-hander scored just 19 runs in three matches at a poor average of 6.33 while in the three-match ODI series that followed, he hit 120 runs at an average of 40.00.
He is currently batting in the ongoing second day of the Edgbaston Test after India ended England’s innings in the second over itself. The hosts managed to add only a couple of runs to the overnight score and were bundled out for 287. Dhawan will be hoping to end his misery by playing a memorable knock in the first innings and help India get off to a good start.
He has so far played in 30 Tests and scored 2,153 runs at an average of 43.93, including seven centuries and five half-centuries. Against England, Dhawan has taken a stance in four Tests but scored just 122 runs at an ordinary average of 20.33.
