Shubman Gill has a special message for Prithvi Shaw
Shubman and Prithvi were part of the victorious India U19 squad in New Zealand.
It has only been three months when India won the U19 World Cup in New Zealand for the fourth time. Prithvi Shaw’s flair, Manjot Kalra’s century in the Final, Shubman Gill’s master-class versus Pakistan and the effort of each and every member of the team have made an indelible impact on the psyche of the cricket supporters, especially the Indians.
Meanwhile, the cricketers experienced something, which many aren’t privileged to at the age of 18 and 19. The team remained unbeaten during the tournament and made every other team bite the dust. At times, their backs were pushed to the walls, but the Colts didn’t let the situation petrify them. Rather, they telecasted a tranquil mindset and bailed themselves out on every occasion.
Shaw and Shubman’s surge among the big boys
Every player was excellent, but few of them in Gill and Shaw stood out. They were also blessed with lucrative deals in the Indian Premier League. While Shubman represented Kolkata Knight Riders, Shaw plied his trade for the Delhi Daredevils. Both of them didn’t get an opportunity in the initial stage of the event, but was drafted in owing to both team’s poor start.
The Young Turks didn’t drop the opportunity and grasped them with glee. The youngsters trod the attacking approach and didn’t bog down while facing some of the biggest names of world cricket. The pugnacious potentials grabbed quite a few eyeballs, most importantly of the Indian selectors. Both have recently been selected for India A’s tour of England.
The tour won’t be a walk in the park and the skilled batsmen have to play out of their skins to show their potential in trying conditions. Meanwhile, the camaraderie between two of the most talented cricketers in the country will again be seen. Shubman shared a message for Shaw ahead of their tour and mentioned his company as a joyful one. He wrote
“From U19 to India A, it has been a fun ride with this guy @PrithviShaw”
