Sir Don Bradman will always hold special place in my heart: Sachin Tendulkar
Sachin Tendulkar went past the Bradman's tally of 29 Test tons during the Leeds Test of India's tour to England in 2002.
Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar is revered as the greatest batsman of his era. During his playing days, he was often compared with legendary former Australian batsman Sir Don Bradman. For the cricket fraternity, the name of Sir Don Bradman appears in golden alphabets. The former Australian captain, who averaged over 99 in Test cricket, iss arguably the best batsman to have ever graced the cricket field.
Whilst Sachin has always noted that he absolutely respects Bradman, the mutual admiration from the other end was not any less either. Sir Bradman had once quoted that he could see Sachin Tendulkar play in the same way as he did during his playing days. Bradman held the record for most Test tons in international cricket until 2002 when Sachin broke his record.
Sachin Tendulkar went past the Bradman’s tally of 29 Test tons during the Leeds Test of India’s tour to England in 2002. Interestingly, it was on August 23, 2002, when Sachin went past the landmark number. A Twitter user recently posted an update regarding the same citing the importance of the date in the annals of world cricket. Tendulkar retweeted the tweet and added a caption to show his respect for Don Bradman.
In his tweet, Sachin noted that Sir Don Bradman will always have a special place in his heart. He further conceded that the landmark was a big stepping stone in his career.

Talking about the Test at Leeds, Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly had won the toss and had surprised everyone by opting to bat first. After losing Virender Sehwag and Sanjay Bangar early in the innings, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, and Ganguly hit centuries to take India to a mammoth total of 628/8. Tendulkar had scored 193 off 330 deliveries.
