"SKY is the limit"- R Ashwin to an unexpected new follower on Twitter
Ashwin is renowned for his witty answers to press, fans and cricketers.
Apart from being India’s premier spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin is also renowned for his witty answers to press, fans and cricketers. Ashwin has a strong sense of humor, which is appreciated by one and all. Recently, he became the fastest player to reach 400 Test wickets during India’s 3-1 series victory against England at home in March. He took 32 wickets and was lauded for his phenomenal achievement.
Like his fellow India teammates, Ashwin too has many followers on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. The off-spinner received one more unexpected follower on Twitter in Suryakumar Yadav, fondly known as ‘SKY’. Yadav is in the news recently for mocking fellow team members Shreyas Iyer and Yuzvendra Chahal.
Ashwin gave Yadav a taste of his own medicine by welcoming the India middle-order batter with ‘SKY is the limit’ remark. Both the players were last seen in the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). While Ashwin played for Delhi Capitals, Yadav played for the Mumbai Indians.
Ashwin and Yadav looking forward to continuing their good form
After spending some quality time with his family, the off-spinner is now all set to depart to England on June 2nd to play ICC World Test Championship final (WTC) and subsequent five-match Test series against England in the month of August. Ashwin is currently in rich vein of form and will look to add to his wickets tally.
First up, India will lock horns against New Zealand in the WTC final starting on June 18 in Southampton. Ashwin has a good record against the Kiwis as he has taken 48 wickets. Considering that the pitch at The Ageas bowl offers help to spinners, the Blackcaps will be wary of the threat he possesses. Later, India takes on England in a high-profile Test series. They will look to win in this part of the world after their triumph in 2007.
Meanwhile, Yadav has made a smooth transition in international cricket by scoring a classy fifty in his very first T20I innings. He was fearless in his approach. which put the England bowlers on the backfoot. The 30-year-old looks certain to be named in India’s squad for their limited-overs series against Sri Lanka starting in July.
