'Social distancing 101' - Rohit Sharma interacts with KKR's Kuldeep Yadav and Abhishek Nayar
Both KKR and MI are one of the most celebrated franchises of the IPL.
All the Indian Premier League teams have started practising for the showpiece event as the tournament is just 10 days away. The players are often seen these days training for their respected franchises while keeping in mind the social distancing norms. The BCCI has set certain protocols for the franchises, considering the pandemic. Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders are the only teams training in Abu Dhabi at the moment, rest are having their base in Dubai.
Rohit Sharma, the Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper was recently seen having a chat with his former Mumbai teammate Abhishek Nayar and Indian teammate Kuldeep Yadav. Notably, Kuldeep and Nayar both are a part of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and were practising with there teams. As the cricketers are advised to maintain social distancing strictly, all three were seen following it.
While the two KKR members were standing at one side, the MI skipper was standing on another with a big distance between them. KKR’s official Twitter handle posted a video in which all three can be seen interesting but with the twist of social distancing.
“Social Distancing 101 – @abhisheknayar1, @imkuldeep18, catch up with @ImRo45 at training, but with a ‘new-normal’ twist! ????,” they wrote.
Mumbai Indians also posted a picture which had Nayar and Rohit having a conversation. The Mumbai Indians’ Twitter handle wrote “See you on the 23rd! Notifying that both the team will be playing against each other on 23rd September.
Mumbai Indians have an upper hand over Knight Riders
The tournament is going to kick off on 19th September, as Mumbai Indians will face off against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Kolkata will be playing their first game against Mumbai on 23rd September. The final of the exhibition will be played on 10th November.
Both KKR and MI are one of the most celebrated franchises of the IPL. Knight Riders have won the IPL twice and Mumbai has clinched the trophy for a record 4 times. Mumbai also has an upper hand over KKR in head to head games, as Mumbai has defeated KKR in 19 out of 25 games they have played together. Notably, Mumbai Indians are the defending champions as they defeated CSK in the finals last year.
