'9 out of 10 times umpires will give that Not Out' - Mark Waugh opines on Virat Kohli's controversial dismissal in 2nd Test
Kohli was dismissed off Matthew Kuhnemann's delivery in the second session of the second day.
When Australian spinner Nathan Lyon wrecked India's batting lineup in the second Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy, the hosts found themselves in distress. India lost four wickets in the opening session of Day 2 after completing the first day strongly, and the Australians continued to trouble India in the second session as well.
While the Indian batting order failing is a point to be talked upon, Virat Kohli's controversial dismissal has got the cricketing fraternity talking. Kohli had been playing a really composed and calm knock before Australian debutant Matthew Kuhnemann sent the Indian stalwart packing.
Experts and fans have been talking about the dismissal, and there are many who expressed dissent over the third umpire's 'out' decision. Mark Waugh, who is a part of the commentary panel in the ongoing Test, shared his opinion on Kohli's dismissal as he was heard saying:
"9 out of 10 times umpires will give that Not Out."
There was a clear spike on ultra edge, but there also was a deflection between the bat and the ball which made it confusing to guess whether the ball hit the bat first, or the pads.
