AB de Villiers shares unseen throwback picture on Instagram as 'friend' Virat Kohli completes 71st international century

Kohli was adjudged player of the match for his excellent hundred.

Team India completed an excellent victory over Afghanistan in their last Super 4 matches of the 2022 T20 Asia Cup played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on August 8 (Thursday). Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli completed an outstanding century as he was also adjudged Player of the Match. 

After Kohli completed his 71st century in the international arena, wishes from all around the world pouring in as the modern-day great announced his comeback with the bat. Meanwhile, former South Africa skipper and former RCB batter AB de Villiers has shared a post for Kohli on his official Instagram account.  

"With his 100 today I thought I’d share this memory Top knock today my friend. Many more to come: De Villiers wrote as a caption on his Instagram account," de Villiers captioned the post.

In the photo posted on Instagram, both de Villiers and Kohli can be seen sitting on a scooter. While de Villiers is wearing a helmet, Kohli is seen wearing stylish sunglass as they pose for the photo. It must be noted that de Villiers had also congratulated Kohli earlier as he posted a tweet on his official Twitter handle. 

Talking about India vs Afghanistan match, after losing the toss, team India posted an above par 200+ runs on the board in their allotted 20 overs. Apart from Kohli's century, stand-in skipper KL Rahul also played well for his 62 off 41. 

In reply, veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar demolished the Afghanistan batting order as he took a total of five wickets in his four-over quota. Batter Ibrahim Zadran completed a gritty fifty but that was not enough for his team as they could only manage to score 111 runs after losing eight wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Apart from Bhuvneshwar, Arshdeep Singh, Deepak Hooda, and Ravichandran Ashwin also scalped one wicket each for their team.
