'Focus on cricket and you might come close to winning' - Ambati Rayudu responds to fake trolls and hate comments
The ex-CSK cricketer has often been at the receiving end of hate from RCB fans on social media.
Wicketkeeper-batter Ambati Rayudu made his name majorly by playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He began his career with Mumbai Indians and was a part of the teams that won the title in 2013, 2015, and 2017. Rayudu turned his heads to Chennai Super Kings in 2018 and won the with them in the first year itself as well. Since then, he developed a superior bonding with the CSK franchise and has been openly advocating for the team even after retirement.
During IPL 2024's league stage game between Chennai and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Rayudu was commentating on air during the final moments of the game, where the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side lost a do-or-die encounter in the last over. Dejected after the loss, Rayudu's pictures of not being able to hold his tears went viral on the internet.
Since then, the ex-CSK cricketer has often been at the receiving end of hate from RCB fans on social media, and has openly said that he doesn't like the Bengaluru franchise. In a recent episode, it seems that the fans have again started to hit back at Rayudu, to which the former India cricketer has responded with a post on microblogging platform 'X' formerly known as Twitter.
"Instead of spending money on paid PR and paid comments to control the narrative, focus internally and on cricket, you might just come close to winning," Rayudu, who believes that the comments are from trolls who are getting paid for spreading hate, wrote in his post.
