Arjun Tendulkar wishes speedy recovery to Prithvi Shaw, shares throwback picture
Prithvi Shaw got ruled out of the Royal London One Day Cup 2023 due to a knee injury.
Star India batter Prithvi Shaw was in fine form during the Royal London One Day Cup 2023 in England as he scored a double hundred and a hundred during the tournament playing for Northamptonshire. However, amid his rich form Shaw suffered a knee injury and got ruled out of the tournament. Following his unfortunate injury, Shaw has received a heartfelt message from Arjun Tendulkar who wished him a speedy recovery.
Notably, Shaw Arjun and Shaw have shared a bond since their teenage days and have a great rapport with each other. Shaw got injured while fielding during the game against Durham during the Group B fixture. However, the 23-year-old scored a magnificent 125* (76) in the second innings to help his side chase down the target of 199 in just 25.4 overs. His innings was studded with 15 fours and seven sixes.
Arjun shared a throwback picture with Shaw on his Instagram story and wrote, “Stay strong buddy wish you a speedy recovery.”
Earlier, in the previous fixture against Somerset, he played a scintillating innings of 244 (153) with the help of 28 fours and 11 sixes in his innings. Courtesy of his mammoth innings, Northamptonshire posted a humongous score of 415/8 in their allotted 50 overs and won the match by 87 runs.
Prithvi Shaw is the highest run scorer of the tournament
With his back-to-back hundreds, Shaw is the highest run scorer of the tournament so far with 429 runs to his name from four innings at an average of 143 and a strike rate of 152.66 with two hundreds. However, his excellent tournament came to a premature end due to injury.
The Maharasthra-born batter had been going through a rough period in his career over the past few months as he had a forgettable season in the IPL 2023 and found himself out of the Indian team. Shaw was determined to turn things around, however, another injury has come as a roadblock in his path towards a team India comeback.
