Facing an early setback with the dismissal of Usman Khawaja, Warner, alongside Marnus Labuschagne, formed a formidable partnership of 119 runs, propelling Australia towards victory. The left-hander's innings of 57 ultimately played a pivotal role. Earlier, the Sydney crowd honoured Warner with a standing ovation as he entered the field for his last Test appearance. The veteran cricketer reciprocated the goodwill, exchanging handshakes with everyone on the field and receiving a Guard of Honour from the Pakistani team.
Coming to the match, Australia secured a win against Pakistan on the final day. Chasing a target of 130, the Aussies won by eight wickets after dismissing Pakistan for 115 in their second innings to complete a clean sweep in the series. The standout performers were Warner and Marnus Labuschagne, who formed a brilliant 119-run partnership for the second wicket. Warner, in his final test innings, scored 57 before being dismissed by Sajid Khan’s clever off-spin, while Labuschagne remained unbeaten at 62, guiding Australia to an easy victory.

After the match, David Warner gave an emotional farewell speech reflecting on his career. Stepping away from red-ball cricket, he expressed the emotional significance of the moment, especially as he watches the upcoming series against the West Indies from the sidelines.
“It’ll be quite emotional to watch the boys go out there (West Indies series) and not play knowing that I was able to come out here and do what I could do,” the New South Wales-born said.
Discussing his family's support, Warner mentioned that his parents and wife, Candice, provided him with the support and nurturing environment he needed. Besides, Warner also expressed his gratitude towards his wife Candice for keeping him grounded thereby helping him cherish every moment spent with his family.
“We’ve had a beautiful family. I cherish every moment I get with them. Thank you Candice for what you’ve done, you mean the world to me and I appreciate it,” Warner concluded.
