Bollywood singer Shreya Ghoshal to grace IPL 2025 Opening Ceremony at Eden Gardens
This time round, famous singer Shreya Ghoshal, has been locked as one of the performers at the grand opening event at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday, March 22.
The Indian Premier League has been a spectacle over the years and the upcoming edition in 2025 which is set to be the eighteenth edition of the tournament promises to be even better. A customary act that makes the commencement of every IPL event is the opening ceremony, and stars like A.R. Rahman, Sonu Nigam, Akshay Kumar, Shahid Kapoor, Arijit Singh, Amitabh Bachchan, and Saif Ali Khan among many others have performed the opening acts during the previous editions.
This time round, famous singer Shreya Ghoshal, has been locked as one of the performers at the grand opening event at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday, March 22, which will take place right before the game between defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Ghoshal, popular for songs like Mere Dholna, Barso Re, and Ghar More Pardesiya, will be setting the stage ablaze with her melodious voice on Saturday.
Meanwhile, popular Bollywood actress Disha Patani will also be seen grooving with her dance performance at the stage alongside the singer. Disha is famous for her roles in movies like MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, Malang, and Baaghi 2, will be putting up some sassy moves to some of her iconic dance numbers, sending the crowd at the iconic Eden Gardens into frenzy.
Jay Shah likely to be present
A recent report has revealed that the ICC chairman and ex-BCCI Secretary Jay Shah will also mark his attendance at the IPL Opening Ceremony ahead of the commencement of the 2025 edition. Shah has been influential in taking the brand of IPL forward during his time as BCCI secretary. The broadcasting and streaming skyrocketed under Shah's tenure and the ICC chair will be looking forward to seeing the league reach newer heights under his successors.

The 18th IPL will commence on March 22 in Kolkata, with the final set to be played on May 26, the venue for which is yet to be decided.
