Cricket Australia arranges Holi celebrations for Indians in Melbourne; Fans pose with ODI World Cup trophy

On the auspicious day of the Holi festival, Cricket Australia organized a celebration in Melbourne and displayed the 2023 ODI World Cup trophy at the event. Fans reached the festival grounds to catch a glimpse of the prestigious trophy and take pictures with it.
Holi, the festival of colours, is one of the most vibrant celebrations in the Hindu culture, symbolizing the arrival of spring and the victory of good over evil. Celebrated globally, Holi promotes unity, love, and joy among people of all backgrounds. The joyous celebrations in Melbourne saw Australia's cricketing boards bring back the World Cup-winning moment into the festivities. Fans dressed up in traditional attire were drenched in Gulaal and lined up to click pictures with the trophy.
Australia’s victory in the 2023 ODI World Cup was nothing but a rollercoaster ride. The Pat Cummins-led side lifted the trophy for a record sixth time, adding another trophy to the country's trophy cabinet. Their World Cup campaign had a share of ups and downs. After early losses to India and South Africa, the team made a brilliant comeback, winning matches against Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and New Zealand.
Impressive performances from players like David Warner, Glenn Maxwell, and Travis Head guided the team forward. Maxwell’s stunning double century against Afghanistan and Head’s match-winning century in the final against India were the major highlights of the tournament. The grand finale in Ahmedabad saw the Men in Yellow produce a clinical performance, chasing down India’s target of 241 with ease.

Meanwhile, Australia’s next challenge is the upcoming World Test Championship Final 2025 against Temba Bavuma's South Africa, scheduled to be played at the iconic Lord's in London from June 11 to 15. Ahead of the summit clash, many of the players are set to feature in the IPL 2025.
