DC vs CSK: Devon Conway hits glorious 1000th six of IPL 2023 against Lalit Yadav
Conway scored 87 off 52 balls against DC.
The exciting action continued in the IPL 2023 as Delhi Capitals hosted Chennai Super Kings in Match 67 on Saturday, May 20, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, in Delhi. The CSK captain, MS Dhoni, won the toss and elected to bat first in the must-win game for his side.
CSK openers, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway got off to a rollicking start. During the second over of the innings, Conway smacked the 1000th six of the season as he came down the track against Lalit Yadav and smacked him over his head to clear the fence.
Notably, it was the second IPL season where over 1000 sixes have been hit. Earlier, in the 2022 season, 1062 sixes were hit in 74 matches. With seven matches more to go in the ongoing season, the record is expected to be broken soon as batters are unleashing their wrath on the bowlers in every game. At the end of CSK’s innings, the six tally for IPL 2023 is at 1013.

Coming back to the match, after opting to bat first, Chennai got off to a terrific start as Gaikwad and Conway added 141 runs for the first wicket in 87 balls. The duo finished the powerplay at 52/0 and Gaikwad reached his half-century in the 10th over reaching the landmark in 37 balls.
