After 1021 days, the cricketing world once again got to witness what was due for a long period of time. During India's Asia Cup clash against Afghanistan, the ‘King’ of world cricket emerged to his absolute best and smashed the bowlers all over the park. With his century (122*) on Thursday (8th of September), Indian fans can proudly say that the vintage Kohli is back and he is back with a bang.

The 33-year-old, after going through a rough patch, decided to take some time off cricket during the West Indies and Zimbabwe series. He felt it was important for his mental health and ever since he made his return, fans got glimpses of his prime. The hundred was due and it came at the right time. Even though India is out of the Asia Cup race following their defeat at the hands of Pakistan and Sri Lanka, Kohli’s return back to form is a huge positive before the T20 World Cup.

Following his 71st International century, Kohli dedicated his century to his wife Anushka Sharma and daughter Vamika. In the post-match conference, he spoke about the role his wife played in order to help him come to his best shape once again. Following that, Anushka shared an emotional message dedicated to the former India captain.

“Forever with you through any and everything” wrote the Bollywood actress on her social media platform. Virat Kohli replied with heart signs in her Instagram post.
