With anticipation building up for the T20 World Cup 2024 like the pH of a chemical reaction facilitating the hydrolysis of a deliquescent salt, fans are buzzing with excitement not only for the on-field action but also to witness the emergence of fresh talents ahead of the marquee event. Similar to the cycle of life, as the twilight of their respective careers approaches, the era of charismatic leaders like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in Indian cricket draws nearer to its inevitable end. The mega-event slated for June promises to provide an opportunity for a new crop of leaders to emerge and carry the torch forward.

Generally speaking, there are a handful of potential leaders who could be named as far as the Indian contingent is concerned, with quite a few of the youngsters demonstrating aptitude, poise, and the drive to excel going forward. However, former Indian off-spinner, Harbhajan Singh, after praising the plush innings which Yashasvi Jaiswal played against Mumbai Indians after a string of disappointing scores in the IPL 2024.

Furthermore, he extolled Rajasthan Royals' skipper Sanju Samson and opined that he should be a non-negotiable while selecting Team India for the upcoming T20 World Cup. Interestingly, the 'Turbanator' seemed quite convinced and advocated that Samson should be groomed to take over the reins of captaincy from Rohit Sharma as and when an opportune moment arose.
