Legendary India opener Virender Sehwag celebrated his 46th birthday on October 20, and his former teammate and iconic cricketer Sachin Tendulkar shared his warm wishes.

Tendulkar and Sehwag played together for more than a decade and shared many batting records. In a total of 138 international innings, both accumulated 5964 runs and shared 23 fifty-plus partnerships and 17 100-plus partnerships. Tendulkar in his message not only congratulated Sehwag but also spoke about his explosive batting style that made the former a fan favorite.

"Happy 46th, Viru! 46 ka matlab hai 4 aur 6 ka perfect mix—bilkul tumhari batting ki tarah. Koi bhagne ki zarurat nahi. Tumhara saal bhi tumhare shots ki tarah dhamakedaar ho," he wrote on X.

In an era when Test cricket was often associated with patient build-ups and careful shot selection, Sehwag brought an aggressive style to the longest format of the game. His lack of conventional footwork, often considered a weakness, became his strength as it allowed him to create space for his exceptional hand-eye coordination.

Throughout his illustrious career, Sehwag registered numerous records. He remains the only cricketer to score the most centuries in fewer than 100 balls, achieving this feat seven times. His tally of 91 sixes in Test cricket still stands as the highest for any Indian player. He was also a key player in India's 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup teams.
